My Story

Update 01/27/06 from his foster mom: "Boccus will begin his treatment for heartworm early this next week. His vet says that he is very healthy otherwise so we are expecting him to do fine. His exercise will have to be restricted after the treatments though, so he is going to miss his great "off-leash" romps with fellow doggies in the days to come. He is such a cuddler and continues to amaze us with his manners. Additional notes to his personal bio are that he weighs in at around 48# and is incredibly agile, even on the ice we have had lately on the sidewalks. I love it that we can ask him to go slowly (And he does) when we, humans are trying to make sure we don't fall on the ice. He has great common sense and an amazing level of awareness of whatever is going on around him. He knows several commands and is just a super dog."

Update: 1/19/06: from his foster parents: "Boccus is a very bright, loving young dog with super soft fur and wonderful eyes! He is completely housetrained, very easygoing and very respectful. One of his very favorite activities is to rollover and have his belly rubbed! Another big hit is going for really long walks around the neighborhood and socializing with other dogs. Our cats were not sure what to make of a new doggie in the family, but he just wags his tail at them and goes about his own business. He even went to the door this morning when one of our kitties, Samuel, was meowing to come back in the house to make sure that I knew that Samuel wanted to come back inside. He is a charmer." Boccus has a sister named Rosemary that he would love to be reunited with if we can find her a foster home. Also, If you would like to donate funds to help with Boccus' heartworm treatment, please visit our webpage at www.almosthomerescue.net

Boccus is a tan and white collie mix. He is very sweet and loveable. He was returned to the shelter by his owner after 3 years. He was surrendered to the shelter along with Rosemary. They have lived together for a long time and would like to live together for the rest of their lives. He is lightly positive for heartworms and would require treatment for them.
