My Story

Bo Mac has found his new forever home with the Bren family in Douglas, MA

UPDATE 5/6: Bo Mac is a very sweet tempered hound dog who wants very much to please his human. Bo Mac gets along fine with other dogs and great with people and children. He has a beautiful expressive face and eyes. Bo Mac is a hound mix, approx 50 lbs and 1 yr old. He was fostered in a home with special needs teenagers in TN and he has been temperment tested. Bo Mac got adopted in New England but came back to us because he is a dog who needs a home with another dog. When Bo was being fostered in the south with other dogs, he was fine, but in an adoptive home by as an only dog, he was fearful of anyone who entered the home other than his family. However, within 5 minutes of moving him to a home with other dogs in residence, he was back to his old self. He is happy and relaxed, exhibits no fear of strangers, plays nicely with all the other dogs, and in general, is a confident, happy dog. He is exceptionally loving---and tolerant of children lying on him and nuzzling him. He is very sweet natured. So, with another, confident, resident dog in a home to mentor him, he will be fine. He is housetrained, not a chewer or a barker, and he is trained to the invisible fence. He is being fostered in Walpole, MA

In his video we refer to him as a possible beagle mix, but he is too big to be a beagle and he does not appear to be a beagle mix. He is a coonhound mix. Bo Mac's adoption fee is $300.

Please complete an online APPLICATION if you wish to adopt. Forever Home Rescue New England is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
We are a network of foster homes in the South and the New England area. THERE IS NO SPECIFIC SHELTER LOCATION. If you wish to meet our dogs, you must first be approved by going through our application and screening process.

Forever Home Rescue suggests obedience training for all puppies and dogs. All dogs are up to date on their shots, dewormed and spayed or neutered. Vet fees, transport fee and New England quarantine fees ARE INCLUDED in each dog's adoption fee. Also, any dogs older than pups--even if they are not marked housetrained in their posting---usually housetrain within a day or two, because most are used to living outside in the south and will prefer to "do their business" outdoors.
