My Story

Bo is a Chihuahua mix that weighs only 9 pounds, is 18 months old and born on 3/9/08 .

He’s a very sweet, quiet lap dog who would do well in a calm home. In the foster home we have a 3lb puppy and an 85 lb adult dog. Bo adapted rather quickly to the dogs. He did not however care for the puppy jumping on him. He would rather go lay next to the calm adult dog. He is not particularly playful and does not particularly care to play with the dogs or their dog toys. (that may be due to the trauma of loosing his family and being in a new environment)

He was rather nervous at first, but as soon as I reassured him that everything was OK and I would protect him he relaxed and was fine. He gets very excited to see you in the morning or when you get home and will jump like he wants to be picked up. He also gets very excited to see the leash and go for a walk.

We (the foster home) keep an open crate in the living room and Bo likes to either be on my lap or in the crate with the door open. He is fine to sleep in the crate at night. I think if we let him he would love to sleep in bed with us.

Bo is not vocal at all unless he hears something to alert you and even then he will kind of woof under his breath at first.

He is pretty well housebroken but has had a couple accidents. (again possibly due to an unfamiliar environment) He will go to the back door and when I say “do you want outside” he gets excited to let you know he needs out.

Bo was abandoned by his owners (possibly due to foreclosure) and was picked up by the pound when a neighbor called and said he had been left. We were able to contact his former vet. Bo had his complete puppy shots. He was treated for a sprained leg in Aug of 08 and had his rabies shot in April or 09. He is now being neutered and his shots are up to date.

Bo is looking for a warm lap, in a calm forever home who will love and care for him.
