Blue

Blue is such a sweet and beautiful boy! He is a deaf Dane, approximately 16 months old. After spending his first 14 months on a short chain outside, he has adapted wonderfully to life inside the house with his foster family. He is just perfect with small children and other pets. He does not have any dominance issues or food aggression. His foster mom has two children under three years of age, two Chihuahuas and another Great Dane - and Blue gets along with everyone like he’s always been there. Blue’s foster home has a doggie door and a fenced yard and he is completely housebroken and comfortable going in and out as he pleases, but he is a fast learner and should adjust easily to going outside on a schedule if there is no doggie door in his forever home. Blue has exhibited virtually no destructive behavior in the house and can be trusted unsupervised even when his foster family is not at home. Blue is very tall and could easily steal food from the counter but he never has. Blue’s foster family is working with him on hand signals for basic obedience training and he is very receptive to learning and eager to please. Just patting his head makes his day, he does not take love for granted. Blue is going to be an excellent addition to any home he goes to, but he seems to do especially well with another dog (a “hearing” one) to follow around. ****With our deaf dogs we require another dog in the home**** Blue's adoption fee is $300

UPDATE 8/16/09 - Blue is doing fantastic in his new home!! He has been to the vet for a physical and everything was fine. New pics of Blue with his family have been added.
