Bixby

DOB: 4/28/2022 Weight: 16# Bixby was running the streets before being picked up. He is either a "Harlequin Pinscher" which is a rat terrier/miniature pinscher mix. Or he is a purebred rat terrier. He looks identical to my blue miniature pinscher aside from the coloring. You can always do a dna test on him to find out. He is vaccinated, dewormed, defleaed, neutered, microchipped with lifetime registration to the rescue, heartworm negative and on monthly prevention. He was rushed to the vet thinking that he had a broken front leg. It was determined that he has a "malunion". Essentially, it has healed. But the bones fused incorrectly. He likely broke his leg as a puppy and the owner didn't seek medical attention. They probably just crated him until it healed on its own and then they dumped him. Bixby had a consult with an orthopedic specialist, and the surgeon could break his bones and then realign them. So that is an option if his adopter wants to take that on. He's a nice boy. Very playful, likes to rough house with the larger minpins. He's good on walks and in the car. He's crate trained and pretty good in the house as long as he's kept on a schedule. He would be great for a more active home or with a doggie playmate. If there are any fencing issues, make sure that repairs are done prior to the home visit. Typically, the adoption is finalized the day after the home visit and meet and greet. Out of area adopters would need to drive/fly in to meet the dogs and adopt.
