My Story

The adoption process starts with an Online Adoption Application you can find at 'https://www.adoptaboston.com/adoption-application. Phone interviews do not take place til after an approved application is on file and we have a possible match for your home My name is Biscuit. I am 5 years old and weigh 14 pounds. I need a new home because I was released from a puppy mill. I am being fostered in Omaha, NE. I was a little scared when I first got here, but I'm quickly coming out of my shell. I found out right away how much I love snuggles, hugs, laps, and blankets to snuggle in for loves and naps. I'm a busy boy and starting figure out toys. Right now I'm interested, but not yet actively playing with them. I spend most of my time exploring and sniffing, even if I've sniffed it before. Because, I'm living with two cats. They might have left a treat or their scent for me to smell. I like them more than they like me. But, I think we might be friends soon, I'm wearing them down with my antics. I almost got my buddy Neptune (kitty) to play with me yesterday. I'm learning to walk with the harness and the leash. I don't really like it and it was new to me. I have brakes and will use them if I'm not sure we know where we're going. Once I feel the breeze blow on my ears I will relax, catch a scent and start trotting on our walk. I enjoy seeing the other people in my neighborhood while we walk. I really love meeting other kids and dogs. I have marked in the house but foster mom says I'm doing better about that. My favorite places to pee are on her flower pots. She says that's fine, as long as I don't get it IN the flowerpots. Sometimes I have to go several times on my walk so don't let me tell you we're done after one shot. I'm still working on my potty training and am not yet consistent on going poop outside. I tend to get the zoomies and bounce around a lot when it's time. I'm working on being patient for them to get me out the door. Once the zoomies stop I will go. Now that my foster mom/Dad know this they will race me out the door and I will go outside. I really love all the praise when that happens. I learned only about stairs when I got here. They still scare me a little, but I'm brave and am going up/down more often without prompting. I go with my foster mom to work most days and love playing with the doggies there. I wear a belly band at the office, because there are so many scents I'm like a pokemon and have to mark them all. My favorite part is my doggie friends Gertie, Duck, and Harvey teach me about toys, playing, dumping trash cans (ok that gets me in trouble), and doing dog things. We have a blast and we wear each other out, so then I nap while my foster mom works. I also do really well in my kennel if I stay home for a few hours and to sleep in it at night. I'm excited to meet you and hope you have some kids and dogs that I can play with. I love ...snuggles on the couch. I will sleep in your lap, with the cutest little snores. I need ... Lots of love and patience, especially with potty training. I'm doing good for only working on it for a couple of weeks. I'm working on it. Here's a little more about me: Housetrained? Working on it Leash-trained? Working on it Rides well in car? I'm a little scared at first, but then settle in. Good with other dogs? Yes. Let's play. Good with cats? Yes. Let's play. Any Special needs or Health Issues? None known Adoption fee? $375 The adoption process starts with an Online Adoption Application you can find at ''https://www.adoptaboston.com/adoption-application. All our dogs are spayed/neutered (if six months and older), up to date on rabies and distemper, heartworm tested, and microchipped. Other medical needs diagnosed while in foster care are also treated prior to adoption. MABTR requires a fenced in area from families who own their home, however we DO adopt to apartment complexes and communities where fences are not permitted due to leases and covenants. In these cases a leash law must be enforced. We do not accept invisible fencing. MABTR only adopts to families residing in NE, CO, MO, KS, IA, WY, SD, ND, ID, UT, MT, MN, and NW AR due to the lack of volunteer support in other states, no exception even if you are willing to drive. If you are Interested in Adoption please complete our online adoption application at 'https://www.adoptaboston.com/adoption-application. Petfinder's form is NOT our application.
