Big Rig

Big Rig is a total hunk of an American Bulldog looking for a family who is savvy with XL dogs! His family had to relocate out of state and could not take him with them. *** Adoption fee waived to help Big Rig find a home! *** - 4 years old and 114lbs - Super social and loves all people! - Has been raised with small children and is gentle and good with them - Low energy, wants to lounge and nap kinda guy. This guy is a homebody and a couch potato. He doesn't love long walks. He would rather just hang out and enjoy his family and home. - Seeking a fenced yard for Big Rig. He is currently fostered in an apartment and does well however he doesn't love the frequent potty walks and would thrive having a fenced yard where he can just head out to do his business at his own pace. - Is great with other dogs large and small however he should be the only dog since he has shown some resource guarding at meal times with other dogs. He has not shown any resource guarding towards humans in regards to food. - Has lived with cats his whole life but initially he wants to play with them which cats may find to be too much. We have photos of him napping and cohabitating well with a dog savvy cat. - Potty trained - Crate trained but can be trusted home alone outside the crate - Knows basic training like "sit", "down" and "shake" - Pulls some on leash but generally isn't too bad - Hops into a car and doesn't mind short rides. Sometimes can get car sick on longer rides however he has done well on car rides during his weeks in foster with us so we don't think he has a super severe case of motion sickness. - Happy, friendly, gentle giant. Doesn't jump on people. - Missing one eye and also has a crooked jaw called wry jaw. His jaw does not affect him eating at all and is not an issue for him. Big Rig is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested negative and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. He does have some skin allergies but does really well on a lamb, white fish or turkey based kibble. He would come with some of the food he does well on. He had allergy testing and his prior owners were able to identify what causes him to itch. Avoiding those foods has stabilized him. He takes Apoquel daily and has benefited from a Cytopoint injection every 6 weeks to help his skin not itch. Adoption fee waived to help find Big Rig a home.
