Big Duke ADOPTED:)

Duke was a puppy found abandoned in a barn back in 2008. WPR took him in. Duke was adopted as a 10 week old puppy in Feb 2008. He has now been abandoned by his adopters. He is back with Waverly Pet Rescue and living in a foster home. He is up to date on shots, heartworm negative, and neutered.

Duke was returned because his adopters were recently divorced and no one could keep him. So Duke is about 2-1/2-years old now. Duke is a wonderful boy and very friendly to all. Great around children. He weighs around 80 lbs. He's also great with dogs and cats. He is very smart His favorite thing to do is cuddle and sleep. He would like a forever home this time!

8/27/10 UPDATE: Duke is a sweet boy. he is full of energy and would love a home that can keep him exercised. He does well on a leash and will even heel now.

9/17/10 UPDATE: He is a wonderful dog. We are working on refining some of the basic commands but he seems to have a good idea about them. Just needs a little reminder. When I took him on a trial walk around the neighborhood, what a joy! He heels & doesn't pull at all. As big as he is, I wondered how he'd do, but no problem. He was happy to greet some neighbors & they were impressed with his friendly, gentle approach. He hasn't marked in the house and hasn't had any accidents. He's good with our dog. He shouldn't be homeless for long! This is one wonderful dog!

As is normal procedure for most pet rescues and shelters, Waverly Pet Rescue's animals see a veterinarian for routine examinations and shots. If an animal appears healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, extensive testing is not done.
