Bessie is a sweet and playful, 1.5 year old Frenchie. True to her breed, she is so goofy and fun to watch. She loves to play with toys or her foster siblings. Bessie is surprisingly athletic and can jump on chairs and the kennels to get closer for attention. Sloppy kisses are probably her favorite next to playtime. After Bessie is done playing, she loves to snuggle for a long nap.
Bessie is partially deaf although she can hear higher volumes and certain pitches. She also came to the rescue with terrible, untreated allergies. She has received a Cytopoint injection (given monthly) which has pretty much eliminated her signs. Bessie will need to be on lifelong allergy medications and will need follow up with a veterinarian regularly for appropriate care.
French bulldogs are prone to allergies so it is not surprising Bessie suffers from them. Frenchies can also have severe back issues. While Bessie does not have any signs of back injury at this time, it would be something to monitor for, especially with how she jumps and plays.
Bessie plays extremely well with all of her dog foster siblings. She does bark at the cats in the house but does not try to hurt them. She is incredibly friendly and has not met a stranger.
