Bertha

Say hello to Bertha! Bertha is a beautiful Boxer mix who is approximately 2 years old and currently weighs 40 pounds. She was rescued from a shelter near the border of Mexico. We are very happy we were able to rescue her and help her find a forever home! Bertha is a very happy and playful gal! She gets along well with the other dogs in her playgroup. They have a great time playing and exploring together. She does still have some puppy energy, so would do best in an active home with older kiddos where she can go on lots of walks, runs and/or hike, She is a very smart girl who learns quickly and wants love and attention so badly. She craves being with people and being part of the family. Bertha is a wonderful girl who would be a loyal and loving companion to a loving family! Bertha is lucky enough to be in foster care with a wonderful dog trainer and she is learning all the basic manners. She wants to please and is very treat-motivated! Bertha is available for transport to Gettysburg, PA on August 10th. She is spayed, up to date on all shots, microchipped and her adoption fee is $400. The fee includes the transport cost. *Bertha tested positive for Chagas disease and has started her treatment. This is completely curable after treatment and dogs can go on to live long and happy lives. Our rescue is one of the first to do Chagas testing for all of the dogs in our care and is having measurable success in the treatment protocol. We are also focused on continued education and awareness of Chagas to help even more dogs.
