ATTENTION: All of our dogs are in private foster homes. We do NOT have a kennel with multiple dogs. We will make every attempt to process all applications within 3 business days of receipt. // // Meet Benson! Benson is a 10 pound, 3 year old terrier mix. Benson is pretty close to perfect. He can be a little unsure in new situations, but he warms up and settles in very quickly. He was a bit cautious his first day with his foster, but after a good night's sleep, he woke up a new boy with a great appetite, ready for walks, and very playful and snuggly. Benson seems to be housetrained and does fine left alone, but we think he would really thrive with a family who's home more often than not. He has become his foster mom's little shadow and follows her around, always curious about what she is up to. Benson likes to snuggle and will crawl into your lap and give kisses. He likes getting pets and ear scratches and when you find the itchy spot, he'll lean into you and roll over so you can give him some belly rubs too. He gets along well with other dogs, but can be a little overwhelmed with high-energy dogs. He is currently being fostered with an older, calm 65lbs shepherd/malinois mix and the two of them coexist perfectly. He loves going for walks and trots to the front door when he knows it's time for a walk. He is great on a leash and likes going for strolls around the neighborhood and taking in all the smells along the way. He LOVES playing with toys and can entertain himself with them, but also loves playing fetch and tug of war. He gets the cutest little zoomies and will run around with his toys and throw them up in the air. He has a good appetite and loves treats and treat puzzles, such as lickimats with some wet food on them. Benson is such a sweet and fun guy. Whoever gets the privilege of adopting this good boy will have hit the jackpot! He is neutered, microchipped and current on vaccines. His adoption fee is $300. All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption. Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog.
