I first came to Wayside in 2021 when I was transferred all the way from Oregon when I was just one year old. That was a really long trip and things seemed scary, but I received the best care and love at Wayside during those first few weeks. I was later adopted, but life changed for my last family which meant I was brought back to Wayside again. Sometimes things don't work out and that's okay. I know I have so much love and fun to bring to someone's life and that keeps me hopeful for my forever family that I know is out there just waiting to meet me. I know I look a little different than the average pup since I have thin hair, but that does not stop me from seeking out all the pets and cuddles I can. I only mention it because my skin may need a little extra TLC but it doesn't slow me down! I am a super sweet, cuddly girl at the perfect size of 52 pounds. I love to be around people and am known to remind you that I'm looking for a good scratch when I come up and lay my head on you. I'm a huge fan of toys - especially one's that squeak. I also don't mean to brag, but I'm pretty good at tug of war and rarely lose! I'm always up for a challenge if you want to try and beat me sometime soon! Since I had some time to experience living in a home, I was able to learn quite a few things about being a good dog! I am fully housetrained and have continued to work hard to keep my space at Wayside clean throughout the day. I already know "sit" and am very treat motivated so am ready to learn more tricks with you! I also have great leash manners and don't pull on the leash. I like to keep things easy to show that I really just appreciate the simple things in life. One thing that does really scare me is other four-legged friends. I never had much experience interacting with them throughout my life and because of that I have really grown accustomed to being a one-woman show. I will need to go to a home where I will be the only dog. I promise that I have enough love and fun to bring to you that I will be the only one you ever need! And while I am always up for any kind of adventure, it is recommended that we avoid areas where there might be other dogs so that I don't resort into a fearful place. All members of the household (including other pets, if possible) should be present to ensure the chosen pet is compatible with everyone. We do not place holds or do adoptions over the phone and we do not ship pets.
