Beau

Beau is a happy guy and very people-oriented! He is 8 yrs old, in the prime of his life. He has extra pounds on him right now but after a judicious diet he will be a beautiful sheltie.

His new home will need to sign an agreement to take a number of pounds off of him. He is in desperate need of a diet to assure his continued health. He walks well on a leash so a regimen of short walks would also help him to bond with his new family plus help the weight problem.

His previous owners couldn't keep him but their loss could be your gain - he'll make a new owner a great dog. He's a low-key lover who just wants to be petted and loved. He is a barker (he's a sheltie....), but barks mostly when he's alone outside. If his people are with him he's happy as a lark. Won't you be the last to love him?

He would make a great pet for the right home. His foster mom says that he is a very nice dog, a low-key guy with a waggy tail - and smart! He is good natured and good with other dogs. He is gentle and happy and just needs a home of his own.

If you are interested in adopting, please click here to complete and submit an adoption application. The application must be approved before visiting with this dog. Approved applications are based on best fit and not first submitted. Greater Detroit Sheltie Rescue reserves the right to refuse any applicant, it is within our discretion to make these decisions on behalf of our dogs.

We do require a home visit and a veterinarian reference. Please contact your veterinarian to give them permission to release information to us. Once we have reviewed your application and received a favorable reference from your veterinarian, our adoption coordinator will contact you. Please be patient as this process could take several days.
