My Story

Meet Bear! This handsome boy is patiently awaiting his forever family. Bear has been a long term foster of his rescuers who originally pulled him from the euthanasia list at a local animal control facility. Bear was malnourished, had a scar on his back, and was very anxious when he arrived to his foster families home. On top of this Bear had a complication post neuter surgery and had to have another emergency surgery a week after he was fixed! To say the least this sweet guy had a rough start! Despite these challenges Bear remains a friendly, goofy, sweet doggie. Bear enjoys hikes, especially along streams, playing tug-of-war, squeaky toys, playing fetch, and belly rubs. His favorite treats are fresh strawberries, blueberries, and sweet potato! And of course beggin strips! Bear is neutered, up to date on shots, dewormed, flea treated, and will soon be heart worm tested again. He tested negative 2 years ago. Bear has some food anxiety and behavioral sensitivities and would do best in a home with no small children or animals. Bear does well with other medium and large dogs. Bear’s perfect adopters would be someone who wouldn’t mind staying in touch with his fosters, as they love him very much and would love to hear updates and help with anything as needed!
