My Story

Have you been looking for the total package? Because Beanie C is IT!! Beanie C is super polite, kid-friendly, cat-friendly, dog-friendly, cuddly, polite, good in car, and did we mention perfect overall? We can't believe that Beanie C hasn't been scooped up! She was found as a stray dog and tracked back to her owner who unfortunately wasn't in a position to reclaim her. Her owner did say she lived with cats and kids previously and did amazing! Beanie C is now available for adoption and foster at ACCT Philly. You can meet her any day from 10am-6pm. Interested fosters should email [email protected]. She hopped out of her kennel so easily and walked super nicely, no pulling at all. One of her ears is always flipped upwards it's so cute. She knows sit and paw! she will do the command and wait so patiently for her treat, which she takes sooo gently. Such a dream!! 7/4/24 volunteer notes: took Beanie C out for a run in the cemetery this morning. She's a doll! Ran right by my side at my pace and was so bouncy and fun! She's a hoot! We stopped in the shade for a bit and she showed me her knowledge of sit and shake, taking treats in return and allowing pets all over - she is a really great pal! Per Staff 7/1/24: Someone recommended Beanie for a foster. I went to get her from her kennel. The divider was down and she was on the back side which was a bit dark. She barked when I approached. I went around to check the paperwork and confirm I was at the right kennel. She was a little nervous of the leash, but I was able to remove her easily. In the office, the two fosters were standing and there was a volunteer sitting. She was nervous to walk through the door, but then came in and leaned against my legs. She would turn her head and whale eye when the fosters reached over her head and occasionally flinched. I sat on the floor next to her and she was fine. We decided against her due to why they were looking to foster at that time. She was easy to get back in kennel and to remove the leash. On 7/2 I walked by her kennel again, she was on the back side with the divider closed and she barked when I passed by. We later brought her into the office to see if it was just me and she did alright. Definitely nervous about people standing and reaching towards her head from above. Per Day Trip foster 7/2- We took Beanie C out for the day today and she was a total sweetheart! We took her to the park and she was excited to explore and sniff everything. She does need some work with walking on the leash, but other than pulling on the leash she is a perfect girl! She sat nicely in the car, was happy to sit and get some pets, and even climbed up in my lap for the ride back. She was Super loving and happy. She didn't bark at all and gave us no problems getting in or out of the car. She is food motivated and knows "sit and "shake. And she loves pup cups! Per Staff 6/28/24: When I arrived at Beanie C's kennel she was sitting by the door and stood up when she saw me with a wagging tail and soft eyes. She was very easy to leash and came right out. When Beanie C came into the eval room she was very wiggly and sweet, coming up to the handlers for pets and treats. She is very treat motivated and would eat all the treats on the floor. She is very playful, like to play with the handlers rather than toys and will do anything -- including chasing you for a treat. Beanie knows sit and takes treats very snatchy so toss them in the air and she will catch them. She allowed all touch and was loose with everything including touching her paws and tail which had old wounds. Overall Beanie is a very sweet girl ! Prefers to chase for treats. Short lived play Per Staff 6/26/24: Very nervous at first but warmed up once I got her on leash. She was very sweet after the car ride. Allowed all handling very wiggly and loose. Knows "sit command and seems to respond to the name beanie, the name on her microchip. She is shy and needs a slow approach, but will warm up quickly ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia. We are open for adoptions 7 days a week.
