My Story

Looking for a new hero? Look no further than BatMan! This adult male may not be able to fly or fight crime, but he is a gentle, playful, and quiet dog with lots of love to give. He is an incredibly friendly and affectionate dog who loves to be around his human friends. He's loyal, brave, and independent, and has a very funny personality that will keep you entertained for hours on end. He enjoys a good romp at the dog park, but he's also a bit of a couch potato and loves nothing more than a snuggle on the couch. Be warned though, he can't get enough kisses! BatMan is good with other dogs, and has been known to be a bit of a social butterfly at the dog park. If you're looking for a four legged friend to join your family, come meet BatMan! UPDATE FROM FOSTER.... Here is some updated info on Batman. Please let me know if you have any questions or need more information. I tried to cover as much as I could think of. Update: Batman is doing fantastic in foster care! He's a great eater, he likes a mix of mostly dry food with a spoon of canned food. He loves his quiet time, and is enjoying the peace and comfort of being in a home. He is still learning to use a doggy door. He is curious about it and has used it a couple of times, with some encouragement from treats of course. He is getting used to having a backyard he can explore and go potty. He likes to lay outside in the sun sometimes. Or I open up the sliding door blinds to let the sun shine in and he can stay in the comfort of AC but still do a little sunbathing. He is getting used to using the stairs on his own. He will walk up with guidance either holding his collar and just guiding him to get started or he will walk up on a leash. He doesn't immediately jump on the couch, I gave him permission and allowed him to cuddle up next to me which he enjoys. He has been either sleeping in a bed on his own downstairs or generally I have him come up to sleep in the bed with me. He has a comfy blanket to lay on and will sleep the whole night but does wake up early (approx 5am). We are practicing his progress with his leash manners. He can get excited around whenever we encounter dogs on our walk. Even people he can get very excited about. Not sure if he is just getting used to the freedom outside of prison life. He can pull very hard on the leash and gets very excited whenever we see any dog, doesn't matter size or breed. He is easily distracted by birds on walks and you have to be mindful he will try to chase or even jump at them. No accidents, doesn't chew on anything, doesn't get into the trash or do really anything he shouldn't. A neighbor's little dog will bark sometimes if we are outside and he doesn't bother to bark back, he is curious but not at all the kind of reaction we get on walks.
