My Story

Bastien is not only handsome, but also one of the sweetest and most loving pups around. This boy was rescued from a shelter with his siblings where they ended up as owner surrenders. Bastien is smart too—he has learned to walk on a leash, is house-broken and loves sleeping in his crate. He wants nothing more than to please his people, enjoying all the attention. Not only does Bastien love people, but he is also amazing with the resident dogs and his foster brother. This boy is even good with the kitties in his foster home, as well as the chickens! Bastien has a medium level of energy—a typical Pyr pup—play some and then a long nap or hang out, keeping an eye on things. Bastien has such a loving easy-going personality and does great with his foster’s grandchildren. This boy’s perfect home will have another dog, a secure fenced yard, maybe a cat or two and some kids to play with. His new parents should have plenty of love and desire to finish his training to ensure he continues to grow into the PYRfect boy! NYS Registered Rescue # RR102 NGPR dogs are in foster homes at the location specified on their full listing. View the full listing (with location, fee and application link) at HTTPS://NATIONALPYR.ORG/ADOPTABLE-DOGS Completion of an application is required to be considered for any dog. Please fill out the application on our website and we will contact you. HTTPS://NATIONALPYR.ORG/ADOPTION-APPLICATION/ Due to the high level of interest we can't respond to emails unless an application has been submitted. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature (www.nationalpyr.org/know-the-breed) and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. Secure VISIBLE fencing is required; invisible fencing WILL NOT contain this breed.
