I haven't given you an update on Dahntay (Barney) in quite a while, so I wanted to take a few minutes to fill you in on how he's doing.
He is now 1 year old and still a handful! He is slowing down a little. He will actually lay down from time to time, but is happier when he's on the move. This time if year is perfect for him. He loves being outside. I put him out in the yard in the morning, with food, water and a kiddie pool, and most days he doesn't want to come in until bedtime.
He passed his puppy training class, surprisingly! He's very bright, sometimes too much so, but during class he was more interested in playing with the other dogs.
Barney's adoption fell through -- he is available again! This is Barney, a not-quite-9 week old mixed retriever/collie/shepherd/lab pup. His coat is the shortest and smoothest of his siblings, and his nature is endearingly even and affable. He is trusting, responsive, and loves to be held and cuddled. Barney is filled with the trusting, expectant and joyful outlook of a little one who has been loved and nurtured since birth.
