Barkley is a 3 year old very energetic Jack Russell Terrier who loves companionship and almost all people he comes into contact with. As much as he absolutely loves affection and people around him, he HATES to be alone. Home alone is not working for Barkley. You see Barkley has a strong conviction that playing is a group activity that requires both affection and fun. Barkley is a high energy canine companion who requires a lot of space to burn off copious helpings of high energy. You don’t have to be an athlete to live with Barkley, but it would help if you love to have fun. Despite Barkley’s physical intensity he still manages to be very affectionate, and absolutely loves to cuddle, and prefers to sleep with his family. He gets his feelings hurt very easily if he is ignored, and hates to be yelled at. As you can guess Barkley likes to be the center of attention. Barkley’s hobbies include running, playing outdoors, swimming, playing fetch, and sitting right next to his friends. His friends include almost everyone including his human guardians, other dogs, cats, and even one cat who can’t stand ol’ Barkley; says a lot about him if you think about it! Every now and then Barkley will meet someone who is, for one reason or another, a little intimidating, but even then his warm affectionate personality and natural curiosity helps him to warm up to them. Barkley is one smart little guy who can easily learn new tricks and games. Barkley has few dislikes but he dislikes being yelled and most of all he hates being alone. For people who work all day and are gone all night, this dog is not for you. He requires people around him constantly. He's just as happy cuddled up on the couch with you as he is running for hours at the park, as long as someone is around him. Barkley is one great companion.
