My Story

Hey there! My name is Amigo and I am a one year old (DOB October 26th, 2007) Terrier/Corgi x. I play beautifully with my foster dad's high energy dog and we take turns being dominant and submissive. I am curious about cats and want to investigate whatever chance I get, but have not shown any aggression towards them, I should do fine in a cat friendly home. I am always excited about kids! I would make an excelent first or second pet, as long as my new people read a book or two that my foster dad recommends. I am very gentle and kind and am a great dog overall. I am a big sweetheart and well behaved, a little shy, but my foster dad is working on that with me. I thrive on human companionship and whine when I am left alone. I am always overjoyed when people come by, as that means I have more people to play with! I haven't barked, growled or shown any aggression. I have a medium energy level and will sleep all day if you want, but am happy to play a ton as well! I know "come" and sort of "sit" and my foster dad is going to teach me sit, stay and lay down. I am great on leash and only need the rare reminder, but I am getting better all the time! I am learning people are to delicate to touch with my teach and respond well to "ouch!" and 10 seconds of ignoring. I respond very well to adults telling me what to do, playing with me or inviting me to cuddle. I am getting used to my crate being a good, safe, happy place. My foster dad says I'm an excellent dog. If I could go to a home which will give me 15 minutes of training and a 30 minute walk a day, I would be really happy! I need my new people (and their kids if they have them) to be my pack leaders. With the proper work, I should be able to live in a house with cats, dogs or kids. My foster dad is working with me all the time and making sure I am safe in all situations.

These photos are so overdue, I'm sorry. I wanted to send some long ago. Banjo, aka Amigo, is such a happy guy. He's been out canoeing, hiking, come with us cross-country skiing, and roadtripping. He's got great dog friends next door which he runs around with all day. We're loving him to bits. He's the perfect dog for us. THANK YOU SO MUCH AGAIN!!!!
