My Story

**Lucky Banjo was fostered by one of our volunteers where he adjusted well to crate training and started indicating (by going to the door) when he needed to go outside. He does chase cats, but only in fun, once a cat shows him who's boss, then he'll stop. He ADORED the other dogs and wanted to follow them everywhere. You can meet Banjo will be at the PetSmart on CarMia Way off Midlothian Turnpike in RIchmond's Southside THIS Saturday from 10:00am to 2:00pm. He is a gentle and submissive boy and adjusted well to the hectic PetSmart. All he needs is patience and he sure would love another dog companion...he is excellent with other dogs, big and small! Banjo is the perfect age, only 2 years old, and size for any family. Banjo is a gorgeous Retriever mix who was transferred from the Prince Edward County Animal Control when the animal control officer didn't have the heart to put him down. This sweet boy was turned in by his owner, who had kept him and his brother in a pen their entire life. When Banjo first entered the animal control he was unsure of himself. Many thanks to the kind Hampden Sydney students who worked with him and made his stay at Animal Control enjoyable; he has blossomed in to a sweet and gentle dog.
