My Story

Bandit is a 3-4 year old German Shepard boy who was at a very high kill shelter and Hours from death. A wonderful foster home opened up for him and Critter Cavalry was able to save him. This is what the foster mom said about him after the first day or so.“Bandit is home safely tonight. He was a total trooper at the vet. He lay by my feet throughout the wait and while in the room. He was very polite to the vet and only resisted a little when they went to trim his nails. He had no idea what they were doing and simply tried to move away from the vet tech-- no agression whatsoever. Bandit was a hands-down favorite at PAWS (the county kill shelter) and I can see why. The animal control officer who found him talked to us for a while and was so pleased he was going into a home. Bandit settled into the car ride pretty quickly (it took about an hour to get home and he was afraid to get in) once he knew where he was supposed to be. I can see why he was the favorite there-- he's AWESOME. He's very smart, gentle, and loyal. He is friendly to everyone in a regal kind of way without being overly excited. He was very happy to meet my one-year old son and wagged his tail when he saw him (I wouldn't be surprised if he's lived with children). I've been brushing out his undercoat and his fur is velvety soft. He walks like a champ on the leash and will chase a ball or stick, then curl up in the grass. He seems to really like it here and so happy to be out of the shelter. ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. CONTACT CANDACE AT [email protected] OR 615-661-5333.
