My Story

Get ready to meet your new best friend - Axl! Axl is the most loving, affectionate little boy. He’s smart, curious, and has an unwavering love for humans and dogs! At one year old, Axl has been exploring city and farm life with his foster family. His happy-go-lucky behaviour and curious nature really shine through in his daily outdoor activities. Sometimes, he wants to run and play outside with his foster siblings. Other times, he sticks close to his foster mom and dad while they’re walking and sniffs everything in sight. Axl gets very attached to his humans and is not the most independent boy. For this reason, we think he would be best suited for a home where someone is home most of the time (i.e., someone who works from home). Whether it's going outside to burn off some energy or cuddling on the couch, Axl wants to be wherever his favourite human is. Think Velcro! Axl is learning all the keys to being a great companion and family member. He is fully potty trained and knows basic commands like ‘sit’ and ‘off’. He picks things up quickly because he is food-motivated. With consistency and further training, he could be showing off his new tricks in no time! Axl’s sweet, easy-going and affectionate nature makes it easy to fall in love with him (don’t say I didn’t warn you!). He has those puppy dog eyes that draw you in and make you feel like he will die if he doesn't get a hug. So, if you’re ready for adventures, endless love and laughter, Axl might be your pup. Sociability: Axl LOVES his humans! He gets along with all of his doggy foster siblings, and he’s met several other dogs and has been fine with all of them. He has no experience with cats. Energy: Low-medium energy indoors (as long as he's exercised enough). Medium-high energy when outdoors. Training: Axl is young and needs to continue working on the basics. His recall is hit-and-miss, depending on how distracted he is. Axl is protective of his foster family and will bark when people come to the door. However, once he's been properly introduced to someone new, he settles down, and the barking stops. Crate-trained: No. Axl has been left alone at home and is not destructive. Medical: Fully Vaccinated & Neutered, receives NextGuard Spectra at the beginning of every month. Misc: If you're the type of person who doesn't want a dog on the couch (or wherever you're sitting), then Axl is not the dog for you. If you believe Axl could be the perfect addition to your family, we kindly request that you complete the Adoption Application, which can be found at this link: https://linktr.ee/CA PLEASE NOTE: 1. Our adoption process does not operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Our priority is to find the most suitable home for our dogs. A change of home and different personalities of the adoptive family can bring out different behaviours not previously seen. 3.
