My Story

Meet Autumn, our vivacious 2-year-old Boxer-Pittie mix weighing in at a compact 40 lbs of pure energy and love. Autumn is the quintessential extrovert, always eager to meet new people and show off her collection of toys and zoomies. Her favorite pastimes include running, hiking, and exploring the great outdoors, but don't be fooled by her high energy – she also loves to curl up in her person's lap, chewing on her bone and watching the world go by. Autumn's training repertoire includes commands like sit, lay down, paw, sit pretty, and getting "off" people. She’s a quick learner, especially with consistent training and attention. Fearless and curious, Autumn approaches new experiences with enthusiasm, whether it's climbing, sniffing, or investigating new sounds. She's crate trained but rarely needs it because she's so well-behaved in the house and has been reliably housebroken during her time with us. Though she pulls on the leash due to her excitement, a front hook harness has been helpful, and she shows great potential for improvement with continued training. Autumn currently lives solo in her foster home but interacts regularly with two large, young dogs – a lab mix and a Bernese Mountain Dog/poodle mix. While she loves to play, her dominant and rough play style can sometimes be overwhelming for other dogs. Autumn's high prey drive means she sees small animals like cats, chickens, and rabbits as potential Olympic sprinting partners – she’s more interested in chasing them than winning any medals. For everyone's safety, we keep her away from the house cats. Autumn has met many dogs at meet-and-greets, showing interest and excitement without fear or aggression, but her intense play style and mixed cues can be confusing for other dogs. She’s fantastic with people of all ages, though her energy may be too much for young children. Autumn needs an active family with a big yard or plenty of opportunities for outdoor adventures. Crate trained and well-behaved when left out, Autumn doesn’t get into trouble when roaming the house. This spunky girl with a heart of gold is ready for a loving home that can keep up with her zest for life and provide plenty of love and guidance. If you're looking for a lively, loving companion, Autumn is your girl! +++++++ ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://form.jotform.com/210515484620146 +++++++ Autumn is currently being fostered in PA and will be transported to her forever home by our rescue!
