My Story

Aubrey ? A sweet little chicken bootie who is now 2 years old! She is a bitty pittie/beagle mix coming in at about 35 pounds of all muscle, dark dark brown in color. She spent her first year in foster care until we thought we found her a unicorn home last spring. Unfortunately this Fall they gave up on her (and their other previously adopted SGAR pup). We love her so much, but a foster home forever was never the goal. Her good traits: She loves to please you. She is on her third round of basic manner/confidence building classes since she originally came to SGAR in Spring 2022. She gets along with all of her foster siblings - male, female, young, grumpy, 15-60 pounds, feline, and rabbit. Snuggling with her humans is her super power. You will feel how deep she trusts in you when she is spooning under the covers with you all hours of the night ?? She is very obedient on leash. Good in the car. Used to being kenneled. Loves toys, balls, playing. Her downfalls: Everything is pretty scary - but people most of all. She will bark and hide from new people, so kids are probably too noisy and scary for her. New large objects or sounds are frightening (until you gently talk her out of it). Bigger/obnoxious dogs are scary - and if they are not polite she will panic. Aubrey’s perfect home is quiet, patient, and dog-savvy. An older, confident and gentle dog to teach her the ways is ideal. She loves being a homebody and won’t love going lots of places. Her perfect home just HAS to be out there. ?
