Artie

Artie is learning to trust people. He gets nervous if people approach him too quickly but at the same time, follows his foster caregivers around wanting to be near them. At night, he is happy to hang in the living room while the humans watch TV. At night, he sleeps at the foot of their bed, preferring to not be in a room alone. He appreciates belly rubs and will ask for more. He is a quiet dog who does not bark when people approach the house. He enjoys exploring the yard in his foster home and taking in the smells. Artie has lived with another dog and the two ignored each other; he can get nervous if another dog gets too close. He is not a barker and is not destructive. In his second foster home, he has progressed well with housetraining and does his business on walks or goes out to the yard (his foster has been leaving a door open for him). Artie is an easy, beautiful dog with great potential and will benefit from a loving and patient family. Artie was transferred to Valley Humane on 6/17 from Stockton Animal Services. He had been found stray. Artie is a adult dog (estimated to be between 4 and 7 years old) and weighs 9.2 pounds.
