PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION IN THE DOG'S PROFILE, AS WELL AS THE INFORMATION ON OUR WEBSITE BEFORE EMAILING US WITH QUESTIONS. Our Volunteers use up valuable time answering questions, when the answers are readily available on our website. Our adoptions come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. We are a foster-based rescue. We do not have a facility. MEET & GREETS FOR DOGS IN ONTARIO WILL ONLY BE ARRANGED ONCE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION IS APPROVED. THANK YOU!!! He would do best with an active family, but is happy to snuggle on the couch in evening too. Poor Artemis is a dog that came in to the shelter when his owner was recorded mistreating him along a busy road. He was then tied to a tree and abandoned along that same busy road. Luckily a good samaritan rescued him and brought him to the vet. The owner was prosecuted and jailed, which is actually a rarity here in Eastern Kentucky due to almost non-existent animal welfare laws. It wasn’t long until the family members of the guilty man tried to come in re-adopt him. It was decided it was not safe to place him locally. So his options are only for a rescue to help him. He is a great dog and will make a great pet! We can’t believe how resilient and friendly he is after everything he has been through!
