APRIL

This is not a complete list of all the animals available for adoption through the Johnston County Animal Protection League (JCAPL).  Many of our dogs can be seen at the PetSmart at White Oak Shopping Center (next to BJ's), in Garner (I-40 & Hwy 70) from noon to 4:00 p.m. every Saturday.  Cats are available and can be seen at the same location all hours the store is open and Adoption Coordinators are there on Saturday mornings.  Cats can also be seen at the Petsmart at Timber Drive, and on a rotating basis at the PetSmart on Capital Blvd. in Raleigh. 


April has finished raising her pups - now its her time to shine and shine she does!  She's a happy young girl who is just glowing to live life to her best abilities.   She's guesstimated to be 1.5 to 2 yrs old & is a medium build of 35-40#.
 
April has graduated to crate training now that her babies are not dependent on her.   She does awesome in crate.   She is very food/treat motivated which has helped the task of teaching her things she has not been accustomed to dealing with in the past.   She's a good car rider and enjoys walks on the leash.  A little bit of a puller on leash but its work in progress on teaching her that we will get places without having to do it fast paced.
 
She is fine with other dogs and enjoys playing with them.   Cats are safe too - she's curious and will check them out but does not chase them.   She's gentle with kids and just an overall loving dog who wants her turn to be someone's baby.  She is housetrained with no potty incidents either in or out of crate.

UPDATE 
April has been spayed and WAS HEARTWORM POSITIVE, but don't let that affect your decision to adopt a great dog.  She has turned out to be a fabulous house guest.  She doesn't chew furniture or shoes, or claw walls.  She is a great dog and so willing to please and do whatever you ask her to do!  She loves human company and jumps in her crate at crate time.  She does not protest or whine, but is happy when she is invited out!

JCAPL has treated her for her heartworm because this gal deserves to be loved and treated right!  Our adoption fees for all dogs are $175 and we don't raise them because the dog needed heartworm treatment (which cost several hundred dollars), or is a highly desirable pup, we treat them all equal! Now it's your turn to treat them special!
