ANOOK's
Foster Mom Says:
He is around 5-6
months old as Ann had said and is ALL PUPPY. He's
big for 6 months but just gorgeous. He has some of
the neatest markings I've ever seen. He's fine with
our two husky mixes, other than he really wants to
play and they're older and would rather take a nap
on the couch! :) So they get a bit
grouchy with him but he just takes it in stride and
keeps wanting to play. We also have a Chihuahua
who we are keeping separate from Nook. I'm not sure
that he'd mean to hurt her but she'll run and he
bolts after her and we're afraid he'll run over her
so we just keep them apart. He is a smart boy who wants
to please, and he is housebreaking AMAZINGLY fast --
he had a couple of accidents in the house the first
day, but once he got the process of doing his "big
boy" outside like the other guys, things have been
just fine. We take him out a couple times each hour
during the day. He sleeps through the night just
fine. He likes to play around first so we go out
with him and wait until he's done. He loves to go
for walks and does pretty well. We put him in a
harness just so he doesn't accidentally back out of
his collar. He LOVES squeaky toys and balls that
you hide food in. He's also being crate
trained, and progressing nicely. We still have
to lead him to the crate and "help" him in but he
doesn't give us any problems while we're doing it.
Sometimes he'll whine or bark for a couple minutes
but then usually plays with a toy or lays down. He
sleeps in there at night since he's still a puppy
and likes to chew on things other than his toys!
Regarding kids,
we have two girls, one in grade school and one
pre-teen. He hasn't shown ANY aggression of
any kind. We can even put our hands in
his food dish while he eats and pet him too. He
just wags his tail faster. The
only thing I can see with small children is he may
knock them down when he's playing but other than
that he is nothing but a big furry ball of puppy
love and energy!

Story:
Anook was brought to our attention by one of our foster moms, who found in him a
rough situation. She wrote the following: "He was bought by a woman
in Michigan who got a promotion and decided she didn't have time for him.
He was then bounced to a co-worker of mind. She didn't know what to do
with a puppy that size, and her boyfriend was not treating him well, which is
why she asked for help. He
is a BIG puppy. He is about 5 mo old and I expect him to grow up to be over 100
pounds. He is a total sweetheart and lover. He loves kids, men, women.
He was good with a full male Pit Bull at his original home; they played great
together. He pulls a little when he's on leash but that's just being a puppy,
and lack of training. He is very smart. When I dropped him off
with Tammy he was all over her kids for pets and loving. He was good on the car
ride. Mostly he just craves attention and wants to be loved. He knows "sit",
"shake", and "high five".
This dog's adoption donation is $200. If you know how much it costs to give a new dog responsible vet care, you can easily see that this is quite a bargain! He has had a complete health exam, has already been neutered, is microchipped, has tested negative for heartworm, has been kept on heartworm and flea preventative, is fully vaccinated and free of parasites. What to do if you want to adopt this dog: To get started, just download the application by clicking on the link below or SEND AN EMAIL to request an adoption application! We will review your application to determine if there is a good match between your family and this dog. (Note: We may suggest another if we can offer a better fit in terms of lifestyle, experience, other pets, etc. A vet check, reference checks, and a home visit will be conducted before an adoption can be considered for approval.)
