My Story

Annabelle and her brother Cocoa have had a hard beginning. They started their life as outside dogs at an early age. At just 9 months old they were abandoned on a dead-end street down by a lake. Annabelle and her brother Cocoa have never been separated from each other. They ran the streets for three weeks side by side. Annabelle was spayed on 7-19-24 and had to be separated from her brother. It was so traumatizing that we have decided that these two must be adopted together. They are amazing dogs. There would be no extra problems having both around. They love to play with each other. They can be shy at first and must have a very understanding person that is willing to allow them to get comfortable with change. They love the outdoors but are getting used to being inside. They have already potty trained themselves. We have had them indoors for two days and two nights and they have had no accidents. With any new environment, it will take time to adjust and frequent breaks outside to get them use to a new environment. They love Nylabone chew toys. They eat dry and canned food. Annabelle is a 9-month-old Mountain Cur/Mountain Feist mix. She only weighs 23 pounds. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. Because she was found with hundreds of ticks on her, she was tested and diagnosed with Ehrlichiosis. This is treatable and she has already begun her 1-month round of antibiotics to cure her of this tick-borne illness. She is heartworm negative. Cocoa is a 9-month-old Moutain Cur/Mountain Feist mix. He only weighs 27 pounds. He will be neutered August 5, 2024. He is up to date on vaccinations and current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. Because he was found with hundreds of ticks on him, he was tested and diagnosed with Ehrlichiosis. This is treatable and he has already begun his 1-month round of antibiotics to cure him of this tick-borne illness. He is heartworm negative. They are good with other dogs after a slow introduction. Play needs to be monitored until all dogs are used to each other. They are okay eating together. We have not tested them for food aggression with other dogs. There is no food aggression towards people. They love playing with each other and share toys willingly. We have not tested them with children or cats. They are prey driven dogs, so no chickens. Adoption Fee is reduced because they must be adopted together.
