My Story

Angel is a one-year-old, 25lb, mixed breed whom had one litter and is now spayed. • Personality: Angel is a sweet, gentle and timid. I have had Angel in my home since the beginning of April and she's still walking on eggshells around me. If I'm standing up she's walking at a distance and just watching me. Even when walking through the door sometimes I have to stand back from the door so she will come in. There is no other way to say it, she acts like she's always going to get in trouble when I’m in a standing position. Sitting or laying down she behaves like a totally different dog. Her trust issues with humans will be her new person’s top priority and challenge. My experience she is not a fear biter. She has gotten into some mischief while she's been here. She's destroyed three of my pillows on the bed but that was my fault because she should have been in the crate when I could not pay attention to her, so she's not 100% trustworthy to be loose in the house without supervision for a long period of time. She's crate trained and she's okay with being in there. She doesn't cry, will only bark if she needs to be let out to go to the bathroom. • Ideal Home: Angel would thrive in a home that already has another dog with confidence. Having a patient, tolerant friend by her side would help her build trust and feel more secure around people. • Dog-Cat Friendly: Angel loves other dogs and enjoys a dog friendly cat. The dog that welcomes her into the house needs to be tolerant of being licked in the face and sometimes jumped on when she gets excited to get them to play. Angel is still technically a puppy so a dog that likes to play would be ideal. • Low Energy Environment: Sudden movements from humans startles Angel, so she needs a calm and low-energy home. A peaceful environment where she can relax and feel safe would be perfect for her. • Leash Skills: Angel walks beautifully on a leash. She’s well-behaved and enjoys exploring the outdoors. Daily walks are a must and a great bonding activity for her and her new family. Special attention needs to be given around moving vehicles. • House Trained and Crate Trained: Angel is housebroken and crate trained. • Storm and Fireworks Resilience: I had Angel during 4th of July and she showed no signs of stress during the fireworks. We also had a few thunderstorms and she didn't react to those either. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to Angel, she’ll reward you with loyalty and love. Let’s find her the forever family she deserves! ?
