My Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Angel! She was a medical rescue due to a fractured femur that healed incorrectly, but she still runs and plays with the best of them. Angel is a puppy who loves to play with other dogs. She currently lives in a foster home with 5 other dogs and would do best in a home with other dogs that she could play with. Angel came to SPIN in May and her birthday is guesstimated to be around 6/2/23, so she's right around 1 year old now. She currently weighs about 50-55 pounds, and she may grow a little more, but she is definitely in the "Pocket Pyr" category, and is short and stocky for her weight. Her coat length is long and she has lots of fluff for snuggling and bouncing off of when she runs and plays with her buddies. She is house trained but does have the occasional accident in the home. She loves to go outside for walks, but most of all loves to go out with the other foster dogs and play. Angel is crate trained although will become restless in the crate when crated for extended periods of time. She does great in the car, although she still needs a little help getting in and out of cars because she struggles with jumping. She walks on a leash and knows sit, but she has a tendency to pull on the leash, especially when strangers are around. She has a moderate amount of energy, being a puppy and having that puppy energy, and will most likely continue to be a dog that loves to play as she becomes a young adult. She will need a home with a backyard and other dogs to keep her occupied and happy. Angel gets along well with her furry foster brothers and sisters, and in general does well with dogs she does not know as long as she is introduced to them properly. She loves the sound of her own voice and likes to bark if she thinks there are strangers around the home. She has no food aggression issues, but is timid and wary of strangers and will need to be introduced slowly and in a calm manner. For this reason, she may not be the best with kids. Once she gets to know you, she is very loveable and will sit in your lap or lay next to you for belly rubs and attention. SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Adoption fees are $300 for dogs under 1 year old, $250 for dogs 1-7 years old, $200 for dogs over 7 years old. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
