My Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

8/7/07: This little gal is named Angel. She is black and white weighs about 25 pounds and is about 8 years old. She had two owners die within months of each other and was then taken to a shelter. I pulled her because someone begged me to get her and said they would provide her a home. After I pulled her I took her to my vet for a dental and during bloodwork we found she had kidney failure. We think she probably got a hold of some of the recalled food, but her bad teeth may have contributed to the problem. I had her kidney failure treated, teeth pulled and vaccines brought up to date. She is HW neg. and spayed. She is on RX food for her kidneys but other than that she seems to be doing great. She is housetrained and loves all people and likes other dogs and does okay with my cat. She will chase dogs or cats that are not in her yard. She loves kids. She does have some separation anxiety, but if I had lost 2 owners within a couple months of each other I would too. Otherwise she has a loving and stable temperament. I just had her groomed and put on her flea treatment. She has had no fleas though. I will send her HWP with her. I will also send what food I have and her fave bed.

I have to find her somewhere to go in the next week or so or I will have to take her to a local shelter. I DON'T want to do that to her. I have exhausted all my resources. I have my elderly father and his 3 senior cats moving in soon and I just can't handle Angel too. I am glad I rescued her, but if I had known that the home would back out I would not have done it because I knew I couldn't keep another elderly dog. I had her to Franklin County Animal Hospital yesterday for a checkup and blood work just to make sure her kidneys were okay and her blood work was perfect. She is doing great and should continue to do so as long as she gets the RX diet. No other special care needed. To adopt Angel, please call Donna Lindsey at (540)864-8113.
