Andy AD 1/3/09

Adopted 1/3/09 UPDATE: Andy loves attention, dogs, cats and children. (He's in love with his Foster's cat!) He is currently on meds for thyroid, enalapril and lasix for his heart–all fairly inexpensive–and he is doing GREAT!!! He is ready for his home! ♥♥ SGRR's initial medical costs for Andy's exceeded $2000. His adoption fee of $350 won't even come close to covering that cost. After several weeks of heartworm treatment and TLC, we learned so much about this sweet special-needs Golden boy. We believe he is about 7 years old. He was left with a heart condition that requires he stay on heart medication, plus his thyroid pills, both of which are low cost. It is not Andy’s fault that no one cared enough about him to prevent his heart condition, and this lovable Velcro dog is feeling so much better than when he came into Sunshine. He now has a moderate activity level and loves to play ball, go for walks, and love life….he just needs the right family to give him the care he has missed, an d to love him. If you are interested in helping a sweet Golden in need, send us a senior application for Andy - he needs good people in his life. Andy is a dandy! This Golden boy is about 80 lbs of “I-love-people”! Sadly he found himself in a shelter and heartworm positive. He has been treated for that as well as for a cyst on his leg which required surgical intervention and antibiotics. Andy is laid back, sweet…a real velcro dog! He has some storm anxiety, it seems to be getting better. His anxiety about his new surroundings may have contributed to it. Andy has a low activity level but loves to play ball! He is house trained and great with other dogs. He is ok with cats. ADOPTION FEE: $350

Our dogs are fostered in private homes - we do not have a facility to visit.
