THIS IS A CONTINUATION OF INFORMATION CONTAINED IN THE ENTRY LABELED AMOS 1. AMOS IS NOT AT THE LAWRENCE COUNTY SHELTER BUT RESIDES IN A SHELTER FOSTER HOME. Amos is 45 lbs. of muscle. He is 21" tall at the top of his shoulders and also measures 21" from the base of his neck to the base of his tail although his massive head makes his torso look longer than his height. Amos is very well-mannered and doesn't jump up on people; but basic obedience training is recommeneded for all Bull Terriers, puppies and adults alike. In addition to creating a strong human-animal bond, training instills a great deal of emotional stability in Bull Terriers. Amos loves squeaky toys and can often be seen squatting to urinate with his main-squeeze squeaky in his mouth. Yes, he squats!! Amos truly is a jolly good fella! He loves everyone he meets; so, if you're looking for a good guard dog or even a watch dog, he is not the boy for you. Although Bull Terriers are extremely affectionate and can make you think that you are the only one who matters, they will go off with anyone who has a treat and a friendly voice. Bull Terriers may bark when someone is outside but, as soon as guests or intruders step inside, they usually are greeted enthusiastically. Some Bull Terriers are tolerant of small children; some are not. Amos has not had an opportunity to be evaluated with small children; so he will not be placed in a home with young children. Amos has been heartworm tested, started on heartworm preventative, vaccinated and neutered in readiness for his new home and new life.
