Miss America is about 13 months old. She is a toy American Eskimo weighing 13 lbs & is full grown. She LOVES to play with other dogs and absolutely adores people. She knows basic manners and has excellent leash manners.

Miss America was rescued from a breeder who was planning to have her PTS due to a bad knee. A rescue volunteer happened to be at the vet office & offered to take her. She was about 3 months old & a little white fluff ball when she went to her foster mom's home. With her quick and agile manuevers you would never guess she has a bad knee. Sometimes she tries to out run the birds, but she hasn't had much success with the later. :) After consulting many general veterinarians and specialists who advised her foster mom to wait till she was full grown, full assessments were done at 10.5 months of age however finding her knee problem was a bit more extensive than we had originally thought. In the long run it would take two extensive surgeries where their succuess rate was unknown and after much deliberation amputation was recommended. Her foster mom however thinks Miss America is doing exceptionally well without either procedure and does not seem to be in painwith her everyday activity and play mannerism. She is a wonderful dog & the bad leg does not take away from her personality. She is very feisty but oh so cute!

Miss America does not seem to think she has any "leg" hang-ups and packs her days with puppy playtime, games of tag and toy games with her best friend Ross (who is also available for adoption.) These two rip roar across the yard and then snuggle in after their exciting playtime. When those princess looks come your way she is so ready to share her love, devotion, beauty and brains with the right person out there; 'her person.'
