America just recently came in from City of Albuquerque. he had lived there since February- just a pup of about 3 months old. He is now about 5 months old and in great shape. We are estimating his DOB as being December 2008.
We named him America after the movie done by Rosie O'Donnell that portrayed a teen's life in a treatment-foster center run by the state. America the dog was also raised by the state actually the City of Albuquerque. Still he didn't have a home nor his own family. The only family he has ever really known were his caretakers at the shelter.
I must say they did a great job raising this young pup. He has shown no aggression towards anyone- not even the cats!!! He is learning how to play with the pack and is just learning how to be a pup in a home environment.
This boy will be big, however the city of Albuquerque employees taught him to walk on a leash without pulling, they taught hiom jumping on people was not allowed. He is a gem!!! He is still learning about housetraining, but considering he had to spend most of his time ion a kennel due to too many animals and not enough employees nor time to train them to go outside to potty it is expected.. He is now learning that he sleeps inside with the group and you potty outside only. We will continue working with him on this.
Overall, I think America is a splendid boy with a great temperament who deserves to have a family of his own..
