Hi, I'm Amber ~ a gentle soul who is grateful to the Albuquerque Animal Shelter for seeing my potential and making sure I had a chance to live “the good life”! My previous owner abandoned me to death at the shelter after I got a skin infection on my head from being left out in the sun 24/7. The nice shelter vets and my foster Mom decided that he was an idiot and that I was special so they fixed me up good as new again! Now I’m making up on lost time being a pet instead of a possession! I live in an indoor multi-dog foster home, so I’m completely house, crate, car and leash trained, plus I sit and/or wait nicely on command, and play really well with other dogs here. I’m so happy with my new life of freedom that I “sing” and smile all the time ~ can you tell from the photos? I also love snuggling in the bed with my humans, going for walks, and riding in the car so I work very hard at being a true companion animal and friend in addition to representing myself as a sterling ambassador for the “pit bull” breed at all times. I also enjoy napping and playing with dog friends in the yard and I positively adore children! I’m calm, laid back, gentle, super quiet, very smart and I love humans of all ages! I’m eager to share my life with a human(s) who loves to laugh because I’m tons of fun!!! My foster mom always says I’m a dog that will steal your heart! If you’re ready to have the best dog you have ever meet in your life, then contact my friends to meet me in person!
Vital stats:
Amber is a delightful 3 year old, full grown 55 lb., pure bred female Staffordshire Bull Terrier who is spayed, up-to-date with all routine shots, preventatives and micro-chipped. Her $200 adoption fee includes her spay, de-worming, heartworm test, complete vaccine series, first month of Heartgard and Frontline preventatives, microchip and basic behavior training. Contact Mare at 505-316-0072 or send your contact info with phone number to [email protected] to meet this darling clown in person!
Special Note:
Amber is considered a special needs adoption to ensure she is adopted into a home where she can live indoors all the time, aside from the necessary outdoor potty breaks, of course :) Years of living out in the brutal NM sun resulted in continual sunburns and solar dermatitis on her head ~ poor baby. Though her skin is completely cleared up and healed (even better than in the photos provided), Amber must take one Vitamin A capsule daily, a routine she is happy to comply with since we hide it in her food ;-) She will also need to be with a family who will take the time to check her head for other lesions or bumps and take her to the vet for medical treatment if needed. Most importantly, a loving indoor home is a MUST!
Important Notice:
We support our adoptions by including five weeks of FREE training classes with Fresh Perspectives in Rio Rancho. We highly recommend that you take full advantage of this special opportunity to create a deeper bond with your new family member ~ the rewards are absolutely astounding!!!
