August 11, 2010

Sweet little Alma was able to escape a breeding facility & come into LWDR Along with 4 other wonderful friendly little Westies. All of these Westies went directly to the vet for their health tests & check ups, and vaccaintions and their spays.

Their Puppy making days are Over & now they can become wonderful very loved family members!

They do not behave like typical breeding dogs and really want attention and lots of love. They all get along great with other dogs.

All of these 5 Westie girls are ready to visit the doggie spa and groom so keep checking back for updated photos.

They all have nice Westie coats and very perky ears & beautiful Westie eyes.

Alma weighs 16 lbs. & her birthday is 3/3/05.

UPDATE, August 24th, 2010

Alma is a sweet little girl who has just settled into her foster home in Olathe, KS. She is 16 pounds of love who gives sweet kisses on your toes.

Alma sleeps all night long in her “house” and loves to play chase with the westie and dachshund who live in her foster home. She is a good eater, and likes being where the pack is. She is working on understanding what steps are, and has had only a few boo-boos in the house. She is timid around quick movement, and strange sounds, but that is only because this new life of being out of a puppy mill is new to her.

Alma loves the lazy life, being on your lap and talked to. She is working on getting used to a leash, and becomes more confident each day.

UPDATE about ALMA from her foster parents:

ALMA is doing well. She has conquered the stairs, but we are still having trouble with her and potty training. She is still very jumpy and skittish with noises and sharp movements, especially with your feet.

We wonder if she was kicked or shoved with feet. She is just a cuddler – loves suppertime and snuggling with our 2 in their “house”. She can be a little jealous and always wants to sneak in a lick even when our two are getting their lovin.

She likes to play, but can be anti-social at times. It is going to take a special household with very patient people to help her work through whatever she has experienced.

She could be in a household with another low-key gentle dog, but we don’t think she should be with a family with kids. We don’t know if she could handle the noise and movement. It is pretty quiet here.

We have been faithful, gentle and encouraging with her…talking to her, giving her direction and love. She is just a lovely little girl.

The suggested adoption donation for Alma is $350-400, is tax-deductible, and goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our rescue dogs.

Little White Dog Rescue requires secure fencing as a requirement to adopt the terrier breeds (invisible fencing is NOT acceptable). We adopt only to people living in states directly surrounding NE, and if chosen as this pet's new forever home you must be willing to drive to Omaha to pick up your new family member at your earliest possible convenience.

If you're looking for another way to show your support for Little White Dog Rescue, purchase a tee shirt, sweatshirt or tote bag. Go to the LWDR STORE, fill out the forms, and we will contact you with order confirmation and payment instructions.
