My Story

7/25/10: Say hello to Goliath! He's a seven to eight month old shepherd mix with a heart of gold, a ready smile and loads of puppyish exuberance. We believe he will mature to nice medium size, around 40 pounds.

Goliath was dumped in February at the end of a driveway in the freezing cold. A volunteer bottle fed him (poor little thing: he was only about seven weeks old). He LOVES being with people, and he's in heaven when he gets to do whatever the people are doing. He'd love to be a member of an active family that takes him fun places and includes him in their adventures. A yard to run in would be fun too.

Goliath gets along well with other dogs, he has played nicely with cats in foster care, and he has lived with children ranging in age from 4 to 10. Because he gets excited when anyone is giving out love and attention, his energy might be too much for toddlers. A family with dog savvy and/or slightly older kids would probably work out nicely.

Goliath is house trained, though he still sleeps in his crate at night. Like any rescue dog, Goliath would benefit from obedience training.

He loves to carry his chew toys around at all times. Like so many puppies, Goliath is still a bit mouthy, but he'll grow out of it. It's no fun to be teething!

Goliath hopes to find a forever family soon. He's going to make a wonderful addition to some lucky family. He promises to shower you with affection and greet you with a rapidly wagging tail!
