Akira

Meet Akira! She is a 3.5 yr old Lab/Husky mix weighing about 51 lbs. Here is what her foster mom has to say about this awesome girl: She is very well behaved and obedient! Akira is fully potty trained (no accidents in the house whatsoever!), crate trained, walks great on the leash (no pulling), and I have never heard her barking or growling. She does not jump on the furniture (unless invited) and does not destroy anything in the house - even if left alone uncrated. She does not need to be crated but doesn't seem to mind it. She is very smart and has learned how to use a doggy door within a few seconds. Ever since, she has been going in and out the doggy door to use the bathroom, but otherwise, due to the extreme heat, she prefers to stay indoors. Akira is very sweet, gentle, and mellow. She can be a little bit shy in the beginning, but once she starts feeling comfortable, she is very affectionate. She likes belly rubs, hugs and gives kisses. She loves to follow me around the house and sleep right by my feet. When I cook, she likes to "assist" me in the kitchen and loves healthy treats like veggies and fruits, and baby carrots and watermelon. At first, Akira may follow you around the house a lot, but after awhile she settles in, relaxes, and becomes more independent. Like many dogs, she is afraid of thunder and fireworks. During these times she will seek shelter inside under furniture where she feels safe. Akira will need to be the only animal in her home. She would prefer to be your one and only!
