My Story

Isn't she beautiful? Ahu, which means "little dear," is actually a Tazy dog, an Afghan hunting dog! She is a very rare dog indeed, her breed is very uncommon! The dark areas around her eyes were to help her see in the very bright desert sun! Her breed is a small to medium dog-Ahu is 25 lbs., alert, quick, and loyal. Amongst the many good things her owner can say about her, she marvels at the fact that Ahu is so sweet and gentle, despite a life of neglect and hunger. And, unlike most sight hounds, her owner says that Ahu is reliable off leash, checking in with her person whenever her owner is out of sight!
And the really interesting part is that she was rescued from Pakistan just this past July, her story being recorded in the Washington Post.
Ahu would love to live in a home where she is loved for who she is-a "velcro" dog with a very unusual history! She LOVES to run, go for long hikes; so an active home is the one for her!
If you would like to bring her into your home, please call 1-860-242-9999 or e-mail [email protected].
