My Story

Hi! My name is Zen! My owners couldn't care for me any longer, so they turned me over to SPR to find a good home. Could that home be yours?

I'm a male bichon born sometime in 2000. I can be adopted for the Senior Dog Rate of $75.00 I love everyone human! I especially like men. Children in the home should be aged 10 and over

Sorry, no kitties in your home, unless they don't mind being chased. I do not want to hurt them, only run them around. I am getting better at not chasing them and you can see by my picture, that there is a cat that I kinda like too! Foster Mom says I am the smartest boy she has ever met. She says I follow directions and corrections very well.

I love to meet other doggies, but ignore the big dog I am living with. I try to boss the other Bichon here, but I am trying very hard not to do that as much. I would do well as your only dog or with a small, submissive dog as a companion.

I LOVE long walks, blitzing thru the house, squeaky toys, chasing toys down the hall and doing the wave to everyone. I could wave all day. That is my favorite thing to do. Will do it to say hi, to ask for something, for food, for attention..I just love to wave! And did I say I love long walks??? |

I'm housetrained, but I don't tell you when I need to go yet. That should get better with time. I have had NO accidents in the house. I love to go, go, go during the day and at night I love sitting by Foster Dad's side to watch TV. I love to sleep in the human bed at night, cuddled against Foster Mom. I sleep all thru the night.

I do well at the groomers, out in public, etc. I want to go where you go. I do well in the car.

Foster Mom says to tell you that I do have some skin/fur issues. I have itchy skin and sometimes get hot spots. We think it is food related and I will need good, quality food and nice oatmeal baths to help me along. I am also a big boy of around 18 pounds and need to lose a few of those pounds.

Zen is being fostered in NC.
