My Story

Introducing Addison, a stunning adult male Great Pyrenees with gorgeous tan badger markings adorning his ears. This large Pyr boy was found as a stray, but his gentle, watchful nature quickly won over the hearts of his rescuers. Currently boarded at a kennel in Northeast Tennessee, Addison is patiently awaiting a foster or furever family. Despite his uncertain past, Addison has proven to be an absolute delight to have around. His guarding instincts ensure he'll keep a protective eye over his people and surroundings. He's also a joy to handle, riding well in the car, walking politely on a leash, and sitting obediently for treats, which he takes with the utmost gentleness. Addison's affectionate personality truly shines through in his eagerness to lean in for back scratches, and his friendly rapport with the groomer. His gorgeous thick coat grooms up beautifully, and he revels in the attention and care. This big teddy bear of a Pyr can't wait to shower his new family with love and loyalty. If you're ready to open your heart and home to a faithful companion, Addison could be your perfect match. Don't let this gentle giant's size fool you - he just wants to be by your side, watching over you with a keen yet loving eye. Could Addison be the Pyr you've been searching for? View the full listing (with location, fee and application link) at HTTPS://NATIONALPYR.ORG/ADOPTABLE-DOGS Completion of an application is required to be considered for any dog. Please fill out the application on our website and we will contact you. HTTPS://NATIONALPYR.ORG/ADOPTION-APPLICATION/ Due to the high level of interest we can't respond to emails unless an application has been submitted. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature (www.nationalpyr.org/know-the-breed) and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. Secure VISIBLE fencing is required; invisible fencing WILL NOT contain this breed.
