My Story

Color: Black & Tan Coat: Smooth Special needs dog? No Pattern: None Gender: Female Sanctuary dog? No Size: Miniature Weight: 11 lbs Spayed/Neutered? Yes Age: 5 Years Category: Adult • At-home adopter needed • Has separation anxiety • Must be adopted within 50 miles of the Baltimore-Washington DC area • Must have fenced yard • Needs dog buddy • No cats • No children • No large dogs Abby is a very sweet little girl who came from Texas where she was pulled from a shelter there. We have no other background or history on her. She is very active and playful with other dogs though she can be a bit of a tank! She loves tennis balls and chew toys. She absolutely LOVES human attention. Abby hates being crated and will cry and whine very loudly if she can't see you. Because of that I'm seeking an "at home adopter" for her. She would do best in a dachshund experienced/savvy all-adult home with a fenced yard (non-wire) and with people who will allow her to sleep in bed with them and a dog buddy or two, preferably male, her size, age and high energy level. Abby has recovered from a skin issue but still gets Apoquel once a day. She also likes to chew material and has already had surgery to remove a stomach blockage. ***Applicants must be willing to drive to Ellicott City, Maryland (10 miles south of Baltimore) to meet and adopt Abby.**** Want to know more about Abby?
