You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Abby was originally surrendered to us on 11/27/2023 after her owner passed away unexpectedly. She is a redtick coonhound who is now around 7 years old. She's a large and happy lady who loves people and has lived her life as a house dog. She has also had some basic training and knows some commands. She has been fully vetted and her fee is $150. Abby is a larger dog and is pretty strong. She can be playful, likes a good walk, but is also content to chill out on the couch. She enjoys going for car rides. As a hound, she can be kind of vocal, but doesn't overuse her singing voice. Abby has had exposure to other animals and people of all ages. However at this stage in her life she's looking for a somewhat quiet and calm home without a lot of foot traffic. She would prefer an adult only home but kids over 10 should be fine. She really just needs a couple of special people, or even just one person, to make her feel at home. Hounds are really awesome dogs and make great companions. NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications can be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventative, and spayed or neutered.
