From the foster: If you're looking for an energetic, fun, playful, friendly, happy pup, then Clooney might be a perfect fit for you! I named him Clooney since he is so handsome (think George Clooney), but he doesn't know his name, so feel free to change it to whatever you love! While Clooney is affectionate and mellow at times, like when he's tired or hot on a summer afternoon, I would not describe him as a snuggly, calm dog at this stage of his life. Like all pups his age, he is teething. That means he is a little shark, T-Rex, piranha... take your pick. Make sure you have a toy handy to shove in his mouth at all times so you don't lose your fingers, nose, ears, etc. Clooney is getting a great start with potty training, but he will need continued consistent training on that like all pups his age. If the thought of sharing your home with a rambunctious velociraptor peeing/pooping, and chewing up your valuables (while you're at work 40 hours a week) doesn't sound appealing to you, then I encourage you to consider adopting an older pup/dog. Clooney loves to play with squeaky toys, tug-o-war ropes, and tennis balls (though he has not yet mastered the game of fetch). He is a big fan of swimming in his water bowl on a hot day, so he would probably be thrilled if his new family got a doggy pool for him! I fostered him along with pup #441 and # 436, and those three wrestled with and chased each other for hours in my fenced backyard. I did not do any leash training with the pups, but they will likely need daily leashed walks to drain their energy. I also strongly encourage socialization classes and obedience training classes to bring out the best behavior in them. All three pups were great about sharing their toys and food. They were also very quiet at night and during naptimes (when I put them in a 4' tall metal pen together and draped a sheet around it). I suspect they won't be as quiet once they are away from their siblings at night and during naptimes. None of them pooped in the pen all night, but they did pee on potty pads. All three pups were very respectful of my own 4 dogs (female husky mixes ages 3 to 10, from 17 to 30 pounds). Whenever my dogs barked at something outside, the pups were on high alert and ran to me for safety. I don't have cats or children in my home (but perhaps they did encounter cats/kids in a different foster home before they came to my house). I really enjoyed having all three (male) pups at my house this week, and they will bring years of happiness to the right family.
