My Story

2/24/06 THANK YOU ANIMAL HAVEN. This wonderful dog has been transferred to Animal Haven and will be ready for adoption after he is neutered. THANK YOU AGAIN for rescuing this dog from our facility!!! 2/17/06 Yes, he is STILL here. As with dog #06-0018 this boy has escaped the needle today. I will update the site to let you know how we are doing for next week!! 2/15/06 More information has come to light on this dog. He was first brought to Animal Control in November and was adopted in late November. Unfrotunately he was picked up running at large in January and an attempt was made to contact his adoptive family, but the phone was disconnected, and a drive by the home indicated that they had move. This is a well behaved dog and does not bark a lot like some of our other dogs. He is scheduled to be euthanized Friday Morning, 2/17/06, so please come in for a visit and see if he would fit into your family!! He needs to be out of the shelter by 4:30 Thursday 2/16/06. 2/11/06 Ok, Whats the deal? This is a great dog and everyone keeps overlooking him! Please read all the information below, take an hour to come see him and then decide for yourself what a great dog this is! He desreves better than to be euthanized Tuesday morning! 2/3/06 Because of adoptions and rescues this dog has been spared another week. He will one again be in danger when the shelter fills up. Dogs to be euthanized are selected numerically - oldest numbers first. Please come in to check this dog out - he will make someone a terrific pet! 1/30/06 This mixed breed dog is scheduled for euthanasia on Friday this week. His last chance at adoption would be by Thursday 5pm, February 2nd. 1/30/06 Breed changed to Somerset Harrier mixed breed. 1/27/06 What a cool dog this one is! He is good with everyone and friendly to the other canines. As weather permits, the dogs are staked in the front of the shelter to enjoy the sunshine. Normally, we use choker chains which often are way to big for the dogs because we lack the inventory to have the right sizes for the dogs right now. Anyway, this guy has removed his choker chain at least twice that I know of - but the really cool thing is he just hangs around the shelter willingly! Is he really a Shepherd like it says here - No. But we have to select SOMETHING - I think his nose might look like a Shepherd, but the other 99% of him is pure Heinz 57 - wish they would list that one on the breed pick list! Nice dog - excellent adoption prospect! Fun, playful dog who will sit on command. Walks nice on the leash too! His markings on his coat make this pooch very, very handsome. His coat is short so it would be low maintenance to boot!
