My Story

Meet "Trooper." This little Pekingese puppy (about 6 months old) was found on an exit ramp of Rt. 80. It's believed she was tossed from a car window. Two kind State Troopers scooped her up and rushed her to the Oradell Animal Hospital. She was admitted as a "Good Samaritan" patient with compound pelvic fractures, abrasions and internal bruising. FOCAS was called upon to sponsor medical care through its Angel Fund and to rescue the puppy, named Trooper in honor of the officers and because she's been a "real trooper", for future adoption placement. Her medical costs are expected to exceed $5,000. She had pelvic and femur surgery, was spayed and brought up-to-date on inoculations. Trooper is very affectionate. She truly enjoys "people" companionship and adores being held. Trooper has regained mobility and complete use of her injured leg. She now awaits a "forever" home that will keep her safe and where she will be loved and give love in return.
