My Story

Zero is very scared of people. He is gentle and can be handled without him biting or scratching, and will sit in the window if you are in the room, but will hiss or growl at you if you come near, and if you come too close he will run away and hide. Zero likes other cats and does not fight, but is very submissive and can't go to a home if other cats in the house are aggressive. In the past, he has talked to people when they feed him, but will take a long time to adjust to a new home. He would probably be ok with dogs after adjusting to them, as long as he isn't chased or bothered by them. Cats like this often become friendly and sleep with you given time and patience, and Zero is in need of someone who will give him a chance, even though he runs away from people now. Because he is very submissive and gentle, the person who rescued him is hoping that he will find an understanding home rather than having to release him into a managed feral cat colony, as sometimes submissive cats can be beaten up by the existing cats. Zero cannot return to the colony that he came from, as it is an unsafe area. Zero will need a new foster home starting mid-July, so if you can't adopt but want to help, or if you are willing to take Zero in and give him the chance he needs, call Gloria at 505-864-9636.
